    John came to Scituate in 1719. He purchased lands of John Barstow’s heirs, midway between Herring brook hill, or the south Meeting-house and Jordan lane. His house was twenty rods south of the present road.
On 26 Oct 1720 John married Joanna Brooks (16069) , daughter of Thomas Brooks (6017) (ca 1657-30 May 1733) & Hannah Bisbee (5988) (ca 1656-24 Apr 1741), in the Second Church of Scituate.52 Born on 5 Sep 1695 in Scituate, MA.52 Joanna died in Scituate, MA, on 26 Mar 1779; she was 83. Buried in Church Hill Cemetery, Norwell.
