Joseph and Mary settled on the Plymouth Road at the foot of Barstow’s hill on the northwest side, and east of Gilman Plain. The old house of Dr. Joseph Jacobs was removed from its former site, and is now (1936) standing earer the top of the hill, on the east.42

He was a skilful physician, a man of good talents, successful in his practice, and of respectable standing. 23 Jan 1735/6 Ruth married Richard Turner (23165) , son of John Turner (8745) (30 Oct 1654-1705/1706) & Abigail Padeshall (29 Sep 1663-bef 20 Jan 1719/20), in the Second Church of Scituate.52,110 Born on 5 Jun 1702 in Scituate, MA.53 Richard died in Scituate, MA in 1752.

On Friday, 20 Dec 1751, “all ye: Children of Mr: Richard Turner in his house, he being Sick. Viz. Iemima, upon her desire. Iohn, Vine, Ioseph, Consider, & Ruth.” were baptized.335 Also, Deborah, daughter of Ruth widow, baptized 21 Jun 1752.52
