Eliab purchased in 1769 the house on Pleasant Street, West Hanover, north of Wet Street, built in 1740 by Josiah Curtis, known as Governor Curtis. Eliab Studley ws a tavern keeper, and owned the sawmill on Pleasanat Street (also known as Whiting Street) called ‘Eliab’s mi.’ This mill was later a shingle mill belonging to Nahum Stetson.42

Joseph resided on Ship Cove Kane, Conihasset. In 1757 he was engaged in the business of supplying fishermaen, including ‘strong liquors,’ and on 6 Jan 1757 he presented a petition to the General Court of the Province of Massachusetts Bay for a license to enable him to meet the obligation of his engagement with them, after having secured the approval of the Selectmen for such a license. The petition was consented to, and signed by Gov. Phipps.42

Ezra “resided in Scituate until about 1766, when he removed to a farm in Hanover, on the east side of Washington Street that has been owned by the family for several generations. Ezra Briggs served in the Revolution in Capt. Amos Turner’s Company.”42
