From the Southworth Genealogy:33
    Thomas had not land enough in Duxbury for his boys, so at the close of the Revolutionary War he went to Maine. He negotiated for a piece of land, returned to Duxbury, sold his land, receiving therefor Continental money. He then had a long illness from rheumatic fever. The money depreciated so in value, he was obliged to use much, and when be recovered he had not means with which to pay for the land he had bought in Maine. Afterwards, he with his wife and his sons Constant and Thomas, moved to Readfield, Me. He died there, and afterwards Constant and his mother moved and were in Corinna, Me.

Samuel Barstow (24326) (7 Feb 1708/9-19 Nov 1801) & Margaret Stockbridge (27718) (19 Oct 1708-12 Apr 1788).239 Born on 28 Jul 1734 in Hanover, MA.486 Samuel was baptized in First Congegational Church of Hanover, on 4 Aug 1734.446 Samuel died in Hanover, MA, on 4 May 1826; he was 91. Buried in Hanover Center Cemetery.

Samuel lived in Hanover on King Street and is described as “a man of infinite hest; spory as a boym even at the age of 70 and as full of his jokes.” He was a selectman from 1765-67, in 1772, 1776 and 1777.174
