Nathaniel first married Jemima Ford (when he was of Marshfield), second Anna Turner, and third Lydia (Cook) Stetson, widow of Elisha Stetson.

From The Genealogy of the Cushing Family, page 68:2
    Nathaniel was a ship-builder; and lived in Pembroke, Rochester and Middleboro. He was buried in Rochester, Mass. His gravestone reads: — “died 13 Nov., 1788 in his 65th year “. His will is dated 1788, and was proved in 1789. The inventory mentions “a piece of land situate on Matapoisett Harbor, for a building yard”, which he wills to his son Nathaniel Cushing.
On 16 Apr 1747 when Nathaniel was 24, he first married Jemima Ford (51343) , daughter of Samuel Ford (34605) (11 May 1701-5 Feb 1781) & Sarah Rogers (34187) (26 Dec 1705-13 Jun 1796), in Duxbury, MA.286 Born on 18 Oct 1729 in Marshfield, MA.60 Jemima died bef Oct 1751.

Previous to his marriage Zattu lived in Meduncook ME and in a ‘List of Persons in Captivity’ Zattu is mentioned as ‘taken at Meduncook, 11 Sep 1758. He removed later to Rochester MA.2
