51881. Timothy Phelps. Born on 29 Dec 1749 in Hebron, CT.331 Timothy died in Pompey, Onondaga County, New York, on 3 Jul 1830; he was 80. Buried in Pompey Hill Cemetery.

Timothy first settled in Hebron. He served in the Revolutionary War, enlisting in Sullivan’s Division with his brother Samuel. He later removed to Pompey, NY.116

Cambridge was transferred to Washington Co in 1791. It’s east of Saratoga County near the Vermont border. There was another Asa Phelps family in the area, that of Asa and Martha (Bronson) Phelps, but they were of Rensselaerville, Albany County, and there’s a census record for them.

Tombstone in the Isaac Smith Cemetery in Charleton, Saratoga County, states that Asa Phelps died in 1825.
In Nov 1782 Asa married Susannah Weld (52272) , daughter of Edmund Weld (35417) (12 Jan 1728/9-) & Sarah Reynolds (36626) (1728-).116 Born on 6 Apr 1765 in Roxbury, MA.78 At the age of 2, Susannah was baptized on 21 Apr 1767.54 Susannah died in Charlton, Saratoga County, New York, on 15 Dec 1845; she was 80.116 Buried in Smith Cemetery, Charleton. Religion: Admitted member of The (Freehold) Presbyterian Church in 1801.651

In 1830 Susannah was probably living with her son David in Charlton, and in 1840 she was probably living with her son Edmund in Charlton.

Samuel and Lydia removed to Fenner, Madison Co, NY. Samuel and his brother Timothy enlisted in the Revolutionary War in Sullivan’s Division and was with Washington when he evacuated New York City. He was quite sick at that time with a fever, but not wishing to remain he was helped by Thomas to ride on a horse and so leave with the troop rather than take his chances of remaining behind.116
