Albert’s younger brother John was born at Port Elgin, Ontario, in 1878. Another John Zant (b. 1829 at Hermannsreuth, Tirschenreuth, Bavaria) had moved to to the Port Elgin area by 1850 when he married Cathaina Hauber. Albert’s father Frank was probably related to the John Zant of Harmannsreuth somehow.
