Kent County Death Records indicate that Edward died 8 March1946 at Blodgett Hospital, in Kent County, Michigan. He was born July 8, 1903 in Grand Rapids and was a sign painter. His parents were Edward Race and Almeda Elmer. He died of Acute Nephritis (three weeks), Chronic Nephritis (three years), Secondary Anemia (four months), and Multiple Osteomyelitis areas (30 years). He was 42 years and eight months old at his death. His wife, Ona, was the informant. They lived at 820 Arrianna NW, Grand Rapids. He was buried 11 March 1946 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Grand Rapids. B. W. Greenhoe was the funeral director. #35491

Surviving are his widow, Ona; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Postal; one son, Dale at home; one granddaughter; four sisters, Mrs. Edwin Maynard of Grand Rapids, Mrs. William Lockery of Newaygo, Mrs. Albert Baessier of White Could and Mrs. Lillian Brough of Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. Race reposes at Greenhoe’s Chapel where services will be held Monday afternooon at 1:30. Committal services Oak Hill cemetery.
