Deane53 in his history of Scituate says this Noah removed to Norton, but he is mistaken. The Noah who removed to Norton was one of the Walpole Clapps.310

Abijah probably did not settle in Scituate as the record of the birth of his children does not appear to be there. His children: Noah (d. a young man, unmarried), Abijah (was a cooper by trade, lived in Bridgewater many years, left no children), and Stephen (removed to Baltimore and was married).310

Abjiah and his wife Elizabeth had five children baptized in Hingham’s second precinct: Elizabeth 1756, Sarah 1758, Abijah 1761, Stephen 1763, and Huldah 1769.45
On 29 Mar 1749 when Abijah was 21, he married Elizabeth Ewell (50608) , daughter of John Ewell (33537) (27 Jun 1699-Aug 1758), in First Parish Church of Scituate.52 Born ca 1729 in Scituate, MA. Elizabeth was baptized in First Parish Church of Scituate, on 5 Oct 1729.52 Marriage intention published on 29 Oct 1748 at Scituate, MA.52

On the same day that Elizabeth, daughter of Jon Euel was baptized at the First Parish Church, so was Ann, daugher of Rebeca Euel baptized.52 Was Rebecca the wife of John, or was she possibly John’s sister Rebecca?

Joshua served as the clerk of Capt. Turner’s company on the Lexington Alarm.
On 12 Jul 1756 when Joshua was 27, he first married Lydia Short, daughter of Matthew Short (14 Mar 1688-15 Apr 1731) & Margaret Freeman (9 Feb 1689/90-), in Abington, MA.52 Born on 20 Dec 1729. Lydia died in Scituate, MA, on 17 Jul 1786; she was 56.52 Buried in South Parish Cemetery, Norwell.

Galen Clapp. Born on 5 Feb 1732 in Scituate, MA.52 At the age of 1, Galen was baptized in First Parish Church of Scituate, on 5 Aug 1733.52 Galen died in Scituate, MA, on 23 Feb 1776; he was 44.310,52 Buried in South Parish Cemetery, Norwell. Gravestone: “Galen Clapp was Capt. of the 2nd Scituate Co. of Minute. Men Col. Anthony Thomas’ Regiment which marched on the Lexington Alarm, April 19 1775”. Occupation: ship carpenter.

When the Revolution broke out Galen was strongly in favor of carrying on the war, and received a commission as Captain in the service of the Colonies. He died of a violent fever brought on by over-fatigue and anxiety.310

From his gravestone: “Galen Clapp was Capt. of the 2nd Scituate Co. of Minue Men Col. Anthony Thomas’ Regiment which marched on the Lexington Alarm, April 19 1775”.52
On 12 Jan 1758 when Galen was 25, he married Patience Brooks (51164) , daughter of William Brooks (33993) (12 Jul 1714-21 Apr 1794) & Mary Braman (12 Jan 1718/9-10 Aug 1789), in Scituate, MA.52 Born on 5 Oct 1738 in Scituate, MA. Patience died in Scituate, MA, on 26 Apr 1826; she was 87.52 Buried in South Parish Cemetery, Norwell.

Patience first married Galen Clapp, second Jonathan Oldham.

Increase was one of the committee chosen by the town of Scituate to draft a vote concerning the formation of a Constitution for the State; they reported a favorable one, which was passed.310
