It is said that George Grubaugh’s first wife was Susanna Faust, daughter of Jacob & Catherine Faust. Sources for that information seem to be lacking.

(There was a Jacob Faust, son of Philip Faust and Matelina Albright, who was born on 25 Dec 1757, and died 27 Jul 1834, buried at Zions Red Church Cemetery, Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. That Jacob Faust married Elisabeth Kieffer, b. 3 Jun 1761, d. 20 May 1841. That’s not this Jacob Faust.

Also, there was a Johann Jacob Fast (also spelled Faust), who married Catherine Rudicell. He died in 1827 in Berne, Fairfield County, Ohio, but there was no mention of a deceased daugher Susannah or her chidlren in his will. Jacob Fast and his wife Catherine were buried in Fast Cemetery, Bremen, Ohio.)

    Died Near Westfield, Morrow County, Ohio, May 27, 1878, Jonathan Grubaugh Sr., in the 98th year of his age. He was the father of R.H. and J.W. Grubaugh of this city. He settled, near Hayesville in 1812, coming to this State from Pennsylvania in that year, and has resided in Richland and Morrow County ever since. He was an honest, upright citizen, an old Jackson Democrat, and a worthy example of the old pioneer who first settled this country, and who are so rapidly passing away. His remains were brought to the residence of R.H. Grubaugh and from thence taken to Hayesville for interment.
Ca 1814 Jonathan H. first married Henrietta Wallace, daughter of James Wallace & Rachel. Born ca 1799 in Virginia. Henrietta died in Hayesville, Vermillion Township, Ashland County, Ohio in 1843. Buried in Hayesville-Vermillion Cemetery.

Born on 26 Oct 1797 in Richmond County, New York. Jane died in Clinton County, Michigan, on 19 Jul 1874; she was 76. Buried in Union Home Cemetery, Greenbush Township.
