On 2 Feb 1798 when Adam Kilian was 18, he married Charity Dinehart (59804) , daughter of Wilhelm Dinehart (49700) (1735-14 Mar 1816) & Anna Althauser (52636) (ca 1744-), in Claverack Reformed Church. “Adam Schmit, Gertruy Deynhart”. Born ca 13 Apr 1776 in Churchtown, Columbia County, New York. Charity died in Copake, Columbia County, New York on 16 Feb 1854. Buried in North Copake Cemetery, Craryville.

Gertruy or Gertraut, known as Charity, was a witness at the 1793 baptism of her neice Dorothea, daughter of Jacob Young and Magdalena Deinhard; also the 1795 baptism of her nephew John, son of Christian Thomson and Francisca Deinhard.

Adam Schmit and Gertruy Deynhart were witnesses at several baptisms:
    1797 for their neice Gertruy, daughter of Adam Cohl and Anna Deinhard;
    1805 for their nephew Adam, son of Peter Muller and Catharina Deinhard;
    1808 for their neice Gertraut, daughter of Willem Deinhard and Maria Schadoweck; and
    1813 for their neice Annatje, daughter of Christian Deinhard and Polly Shattaway.

Cemetery inscription: Charity Smith died aged 77 years, 10 months, 3 days.
