    John, carpenter; he first built near his father at Lanham; sold, 3 Apr 1690, to Noah Clapp; bought 20 Jun 1691 land at Rice’s End in Framingham, and built the oldest part of the house known as the Capt. Uriah Rice how, now [1887] A.S. Furber’s, which he sold 25 Nov 1715 to Samuel and John Stone; he had bought, 20 Jul 1709 and 1 Apr 1712, 26 acres on the northerly side of Hopkinton river, near the Shepard paper-mill site; removed to Hopkinton in 1720; build a house about 75 rods east of teh present Hopkinton meeting house; was an original member of the Framingham church; selectman; town treasurer; town clerk.

    On 4 Jun 1702 David’s father gave him 130 acres “New Grant land” in Sudbury where he built the famous tavern known as the “Red Horse Tavern” and by last popular designation the “Wayside Inn”.

The Wayside Inn was made famous by Longfellow.
On 25 Dec 1700 when David was 26, he married Hepzibah Death (19850) , daughter of John Death (ca 1651-5 Jun 1710) & Mary Peabody (7150) (22 May 1656-), in Sudbury, MA. Born on 5 Jun 1680 in Sherborn, MA.441 Hepzibah died in Sudbury, MA, on 15 Apr 1769; she was 88.
