Mr. Petty may build a new church for the town of Hanover. Mr. Galusha, formerly of Mr. Herrick’s shop, has formed a copartnership with Mr. Wm. Trabert, in the boot & shoe business.

1909 Certificate of Death, State of Michigan Department of State, Division of Vital Statistics Beaver Township, Newaygo County Register No. 1, #100. Date of Death 10 February 1909. Obadiah died of chronic vegetative endocarditis with mitral lesion, giving rise to sudden dilation and delirium cordia. V. Joseph Blanchette M.D. of Walkerville Medical made the diagnosis. He was a white male born on 6 February 1845. He was first married at age 25, and married at death. He was born in Ohio and was 64 years, eleven months and four days old when he died. A farmer, his parents were Norman Herrick and Charity Unknown. Both parents were born in Ohio. He never fathered children. Fred J. Graff of Walkerville was the informant. Obadiah was buried in Volney, Michigan and the undertaker was C. Joslin of Hart, Michigan.
Obadiah Augustus married Clara Johnson, daughter of David Johnson & Arthusa Lockwood. Born on 19 May 1840 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Clara died in Leavitt Township, Oceana County, Michigan, on 26 May 1906; she was 66.

Clara died 26 May 1906 of organic heart disease and asthma. She was 66 years and seven days old at death and was born 19 May 1840, in Cuyahoga, Ohio. She was 24 years old when she was first married, and was married when she died. She never had children. Her father was David Johnson and her mother was Arthusa Lockwood. Both were born in Vermont. Clara was a housekeepper. She was buried in Volney Cemetery on 27 May 1906. Miss Eliza Barter of Walkerville was the informant.

Herman and Emma both resided in East LeRoy, Michigan. J.W. Hill, Clergyman officiated, and Catherine and Elsie Spicer Hill of 340 Meachem Ave., Battle Creek were witnesses.

Marriage: 19 Feb 1899. Sylvester R. Miller married Belle Jenkins in Olivet. He was 40, a farmer and resided in Walton Township, Eaton County. She was 29, a housekeeper and resided in Marshall. Both had been married once before. His parents were A.B. Miller and Mary Y. Vescelius. Hers were unknown. James A. Blaisdell, Minister of the Congregational Church officiated. Frank and Hattie Herrick of Olivet were the witnesses. Return of Marriages to the Honorable Secreaty of State of Michigan. County of Eaton for the Quarter Ending March 31, 1899. Page 582. Record 30.

1900 - Sylvester Miller is 42, was born in Michigan in March 1858, and is a farmer. Belle is 30 and was born in September 1869. Nora was born in November, 1891, Ella was born in February 1884, and Allison was born in October, 1885. This census states that Belle has had three children and all are living. It also states that Sylvester and Belle have been married for 17 years. Since Belle and Sylvester have only been married a year, both these statements are false. The 1910 has more correct information. Everyone was born in Michigan. Both of Sylvester’s parents, and Belle’s mother were born in New York.

1910 - S.R. Miller was 52, a farmer, and had been married twice. Belle is 41and this was her first marriage. They had been married 11 years. She has had no children. Both were born in Michigan. His parents were born in New York and his in Michigan. Sylvester owns his farm. There are also two hired men: Carl Smith, aged 50, a widower who was born in Germany; and, David O’Connell,23, single, born in Michigan. Both of Carl’s parents were born in Germany and both of David’s in Michigan.
